Milepost

0 SCRANTON PA. Central of New Jersey Interchange. CNJ provides local industrial, coal mine service, and connection with Penn Central (ex-PRR).

1 Lackawanna Tool and Die

5 Junction with Capouse Branch, CAYUGA JUNCTION

CAPOUSE BRANCH continues SOUTH to BIG FLATS

BIG FLATS PA. Erie-Lackawanna (former DL&W) interchange, Hampden Yard. E-L connection continues to Taylor Yard (one staging track). Industries include a General Electric plant and the Delaware Breaker. The model leaves the visible portion of the layout, to continue 6 miles, to the Lehigh Valley's Coxton Yard. Lehigh Valley provides connections to Washington DC via LV, RDG, and B&O. This connection is simulated with a two staging tracks.

15 MAYFIELD YARDS. Includes 8 main classification tracks and a coal yard of 4 tracks. Currently, the main yard processes Northbound traffic, and the coal yard processes Southbound traffic. Total capacity 155 freight cars. Yard area includes car repair shop, engine terminal and Team / TOFC track. BH&BF parallels Lackawanna River here.

18 CARBONDALE. Original NYO&W was forced to bypass Carbondale over a long trestle which also crossed the Lackawanna River.

30 PLEASANT MOUNT. Station.

94 SIDNEY NY. Several major industries, including Amphenol Aerospace. Small 4 track local yard with a local switcher 16 hours per day. Delaware & Hudson interchange (with two staging tracks). Connection for New England and Canada.

Northern Staging - three, two train length long staging tracks, to simulate towns below:

119 NORWICH NY. Major freight yard. Junction with Utica Branch.

203 SYRACUSE NY. (Actually NYO&W didn't go here, but this gives the model BH&BF a significant traffic source).

218 OSWEGO NY. A large Niagara-Mohawk coal fired plant requires a daily coal train. Little other traffic (general freight service by a local from Norwich yard)

169 UTICA NY. End of Utica Branch. Interchange with Penn Central.
