2) Using Sounds on your computer

There are many so called experts telling you to be properly motivated towards your goals all you have to do is put pictures of the item all over your office, home, bathroom, car, everywhere you go. Also many of them tell you to visualize you attaining it. How often has that really worked for you?  For me that does not always do the trick. BUT THIS DOES!!!  (When you come to this webpage the first time and click on the sounds, your computer will store them in a temporary file and depending on the speed of your computer this can take some time. But once it's downloaded, it will be quicker to access the sounds)

I just recently developed another way to keep me constantly aware of these goals all day long and to be constantly motivated to reaching them.  I get the sense of hearing involved in my affirmations. I find sounds that represent these goals and put them into my computer. The key element about this method is to get as many of the senses involved. The more the better!!!  If you can also get your sense of smell involved to, it is a sure winner!!

I'm going to give you an idea of some of the goals I have that I want to reach. The first one is to buy a classic 1966 or 1967 Cherry Red Corvette convertible with stick shift and a small block V8 engine.  (These are not real corvette sounds, but they are the closest I could find and they do the trick for me!!) But the pictures are real!! I look at them and listen to the  sounds!! And boy does that really help me get motivated!!! Also I go to the local 'Classic Car' Dealership and touch, get in, and drive the car. I get all the senses involved and my motivation SCREAMS Get this car now!!!!

And my most loftiest  long range goal is to have my own 3/4 replica P-51 Mustang W.W.II
combat aircraft. To keep myself motivated towards working on this lofty goal, I keep pictures of them all over my office so I can see the goals. The sounds that I
use are: when I start any program, Windows plays the sound of a P-51 Mustang
starting up.  ( Click here to hear it.) When I close any program, Windows plays the
sound of a  P-51 Mustang flying by. ( Click here to hear it - Be sure to turn up the volume real loud so you can get the full effect. It's awesome!!) And here's one of a P-51 Mustang just taxing by: Click Here . I am constantly opening and closing programs all day long as I write. WHAT AN AWESOME SOUND AND MOTIVATOR!! Just for fun, sometimes I find my self opening and closing programs just so I can hear the sounds!!  (No I haven't flown in this airplane yet, but the sounds will have to suffice right now.) To reduce the stress and to have alot of fun and to keep me laughing all day long, I click on these sounds. Try not to laugh too loud if you're at work. You don't want to disturb your coworkers. They may think you are having too much fun at work!!

HOW TO MAKE YOU OWN 'FUN HAVEN' WEBSITE:

To create this same effect in your own computer, go to the following web sites to search for the sounds that  represent your dream. Once it is downloaded, then click on: Start, Settings, Control Panel, double click on Sounds & Multimedia. Then select the action you want the sounds to be activated by and select the particular sound. As an example when I want the sound of the P-51 Mustang on the start-up of any program, I click on OPEN PROGRAM and then select the sound I want to hear. Then for the P-51 flyby sound I set it up with the CLOSE PROGRAM selection. There's other options you can select. Have fun with yours!!

3) Give yourself a reward.

List all the things that you want to accomplish and put them in order starting with the ones you hate to do the most, and so on. Then write down next to it what reward, that is very meaningful to you, that you will receive when you actually accomplish this first item. When you do accomplish the first task, give your self the reward. Take a break and savor the reward. 


4) Eating an Elephant

Do you have a large project that needs to be done? Well how do you eat an elephant?  ONE BITE AT A TIME. All you have to do is constantly take ‘little bites’ out of you project until it is devoured.


5) Listen to these famous quotes  -
Read them to your self out loud every day - especially when you feel like you want to procrastinate - Also find a quote that is more pertinent to you and copy it to a full size 8 ½ by 11 page and print it out. Place it in a prominent location where you can see it every day, and when you start to feel like you want to procrastinate, STAND up and read it out loud to your self!! (I'm adding the sound effects again. It really helps to get more of your senses involved.)
