News: 07/14/2007 - If you arrived here looking for live concert recordings they are no longer here. My apologies but I am no longer trrading in these recordings. I received a home brewing kit for Christmas around 1996. I have made many, many extract batches in the intervening years and have been quite satisfied with the quality of my product. So much so that I rarely drink anything but what I produce. After joining and attending just two meetings of the Cass River Homebrewers however it became apparent that my brewing adventure is about to take a dramatic turn. I had always been quite satisfied with simply making beer. But after a critique of an Extra Pale Ale (an all grain kit from Northern Brewer ) I offered up at a club tasting I realized that if I wanted to brew style specific beers then I must really learn that style rather than trust the ingredients that come in a kit. I really don't know where this site will go. Perhaps it will be a chronicle of my brewing adventures. Perhaps just a collection of beer related stuff. I seriously doubt it will become a how-to-brew site... there are enough of those already. Besides, after 11 years of just making any old recipe that suited my fancy and blindly accepting that it was what is said I suddenly don't feel the least bit qualified to tell anyone how to do anything.
