Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers (PS4FS) |
This website is dedicated to the ultimate sacrifice made by our service men and women in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world and for the grief and loss felt by their families and friends. Presenting these families with a prayer shawl in remembrance of their loved one is a small token of our compassion and appreciation.

Knitters/Crocheters : If you would like to send a hand-knit prayer shawl to a fallen service person's family, click on "Prayer Shawl Request" link below. Please write "Prayer Shawl Request" in the subject line of your email, include your name, city, state, and if you are affiliated with a prayer shawl group, include the group's name.
The list we're using is only Army, but we encourage names from all Armed Services. If you have names and addresses of fallen servicemen and women, please pass them along for this program. All address are to be kept confidential, used only for this gift. We currently have two programs:
1. Maintenance Program: you may request a family name from the recent casualty list. Click on "Monthly Newsletters" below to see the most recent listed cities/towns of next-of-kin who have not received a prayer shawl. To understand how this program works, click on "Address Verification and Dover Program" below.
2. Dover Program: Beginning October 2009, we began sending prayer shawls to the chaplains at Dover Air Base who will deliver them directly to visiting military families. For details, click on "Address Verification & Dover Program" below, and also read most recent newsletters (click on "Monthly Newsletters" below).
Military Families : If you are a military family and would like to request a hand-made prayer shawl, please click "Prayer Shawl Request" below. Include the rank, full name, date of death, your name/relationship, and your contact information (address/phone/email). I will then arrange with one of our knitters/crocheters to contact you. All information is confidential. We often share some correspondence notes and photos with our military families in our monthly newsletters (click on "Monthly Newsletters" below).
We invite you to enjoy our newsletters filled with stories and photos of our military fallen. Our military families have been comforted by these newsletters, sharing many stories, photos, cards/letters from you! They are pleased to learn about large groups of Americans who continue to care about their loss. PS4FS currently has 241 groups of knitters/crocheters and a few quilters; the majority are church-based, spread throughout our country. We have been in existance since October 2007, and in that short time have delivered 3,100 prayer shawls to our military families, hoping our work will give you comfort and return some joy to your lives. We never want to forget them, nor your sacrifice!
