Approximately 1,300 Saab 9000's were imported to the US in 1998.  They were all CSE Turbo's.   The previous lineup of 9000CS, 9000CSE, 9000CSET & 9000 Aero was reduced to this single 9000 variant.  The CSET's  featured the Aero engine, 16 inch wheels and body colored exterior trim, but did not include the Aero suspension  modifications, the Aero body panels or Sport Seats.  They were available with either a 5spd (225hp) or an automatic (200hp) transmission..
The 16" wheels  were a new design: 3-spoke Super Aero wheels with visible wheel bolts and Griffin cap.
