Credits & Links

Like I said in the page describing my present brewing setup, I owe a lot of credit to the webpages I have seen and to their curators. (The pages are listed alphabetically by owner NOT by any preference for content)

Homebrewers personal pages

Ron Babcock has built a VERY nice system .  Although our systems are quite similar in design and operation, Ron has left his options open for the addition of some automatic controls. He also has some recipes for beers he's made using the system.

Wayne Holder's system and webpage can can be summed up in one word... WOW! This guy has taken everything and assembled it together in a very professional looking way. If you're considering putting together a recirculation mash system, you MUST look at this one.

Dion Hollenbeck is a RIMS proponent that uses an electric heating element to heat his mash tun. Anyone interested in this method or any other RIMS related information MUST check out Dions page. He also has a lot of other information that is valuable to all brewers, not just all-grainers.

Scott Kaczorowski has an enormous amount of information on the construction of brewing systems. Half barrel, 3-tier systems in particular but a lot of other stuff too.

Jeff Kane has assembled a system much like Marty Tippins. If you check out his homepage, he also has some other interesting links.

Evan Kraus has built a multi-level RIMS system with some automatic controls and has displayed it on his website along with some other links to sites of brewing interest.

Jean-Sebastien & Melanie's home brewery is a great RIMS resource. A great detailed sescription of their RIMS. Lots of links and information. And a pretty good looking webpage too!

Anyone interested in building a RIMS brewing system should check out C.D. Pritchard's page. This is a guy that must never sleep. He's just too busy building stuff. He has informative how-tos on everything from homemade mills to homemade kegs and everything in between.

Keith Royster has a most excellent page of RIMS information. He includes his own system and a lot of information on the whys and wherefores of RIMS.

Another web page not to be missed is the one belonging to Vance Sabbe. It was his page that inspired me to put wheels on my own contraption. Vance also has plans and parts for construction of your own RIMS system.

Ken Schwartz has put together a website that just about has it all. Gadgets, software, informative articles and more! If you are a subscriber to The HomeBrew Digest be sure to get Ken's HBD reader software.

Geoff Scott seems to do more with limited space than anyone else I've ever met. Though we've never actually met face-to-face, we've had quite a bit of communication via e-mail. I REALLY recommend a visit to his web page if you have any interest in getting started in all-grain brewing at all. Much of the information provided on his page can also be applied to the extract brewer.

Joe Stone has a great electronically controlled, all-electric RIMS. His webpage is another "must see" for anyone interested in building their own system.

One look at Marty Tippin's pages and you'll wonder if this guy ever rests. His pages contain information on how to build many different homebrewing gadgets and how he went about building his 2-tier converted keg brewing system. Though we have some differences in the way we constructed our systems, I think we agree on many points. UPDATE: Marty is no longer brewing but is keeping his webpage alive and is still willing to answer questions.

Red Wheeler has created Red's Butterfly Brewery. His webpage details the development of his system from stovetop to it's present condition. His page also goes into great detail of his many brewing gadgets.

Greg Young has created a webpage devoted to his siRIMS - simplified indoor RIMS - This a wonderful example of RIMSing on a smaller scale on a stovetop.

A list of links to organizations, mega-sites and businesses

Much information can be gleaned from The Association of Brewers. They have links to just about every aspect of brewing on their pages.

The Brewery has many links to brewing information and also has the famous Cats Meow listing of recipes.

If you feel the need to discuss some of the finer points (and some of the not so fine points) of homebrewing with other brewers, don't pass up The HomeBrew Digest and rec.crafts.brewing Usenet newsgroup. Chances are someone out there has an answer to your questions.

Precision Brewing Systems has put together a commercial version of a system like mine.  They call it HERMS (heat exchanged recirculation mash system). I have never purchased anything from these folks and this link is here just as an example of commercially available systems that operate on the same principle as mine.

The Yahoo section on homebrewing is a good place to start searching for homebrew information.

There are also some links on the ?QUESTIONS? and BURNERS pages.

I'm sure I've forgotten someone. If you would like your RIMS, ALL-GRAIN, or really innovative homebrewing webpage linked from here just send $30,000.00 in US funds to cover my costs for updating this webpage to...

But seriously folks, if you would like to see your RIMS or ALL-GRAIN webpage linked from here let me know by email and I'll see what I can do.

Send me some e-mail!
