Was a farmer most of his life in Morgan Twp, Morgan Co. OH. Also worked for the Ohio State Highway department. After retirement, lived the remainder of his life on High St in Malta, OH. Died of lung cancer a little more than one week after the assassination of President Kennedy. Was apparently treated as an orphan after the death of his mother, Rosa M. Todd Dugan on November 30, 1894. He appears on the roll of John McIntire's Children's Home in Zanesville, OH, in the 1900 Census. He was raised in the home of Sam Bone in Morgan Co. The connection to the Bones may have been through "Uncle Charlie", Charles Hearing, who was married to Rosa's sister.
