Sgt. Co. D 148 Inf 37 Div Served in WW I. Obit: Offord A. Richardson, 71, of McConnelsville, clerk of the Morgan County Board of Elections succumbed at 1:55 PM Saturday, June 11, to an apparent heart attack. He had not been unusually ill prior to his death and the board was in session. Mr. Richardson was born June 1, 1895 in Mcconnelsville, a son of Amos and Anna Offord Richardson, and had retired in 1960 after having been employed for 20 years at the Philo Plant of Ohio Power company. He served with the 37th Infantry division in France in World War I. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Presbyterian church, a life member of the American Legion, 27th Division Association, 40 and 8, Modern Woodmen, Eagles Lodge, and Ohio Highway Patrol Auxiliary. Surviving are his widow, the former Hazel James; a son James Richardson of Cincinnati; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla. One sister, Lucille Stratton, who died Jan. 2 and two brothers, Chester, who was killed in World War I and Harold are deceased. Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm in the Fisher funeral home with Rev. Linson Stebbins officiating. Military services were conducted at the grave by the American Legion. Burial was made in the McConnelsville cemetery.
