Georgia Ann and I were born redneck, in the same hospital, in Goose Creek, Texas, about six months apart in 1952.  Her Momma bought gas from my Daddy's filling station when we were babies.  We both remember watching Dr. Felknor's fish aquarium while in his waiting room.

We finally met one summer day 15 years later on my sister's breezeway.  Her sister and my sister fixed us up.  She had a boyfriend then, but she's been with me the last 32 years now.

Well, the point is we were born redneck, and even if we changed into semi-sophisticated urban professionals on the outside, we're still rednecks at heart.  Ann told me on the last trip home, "you know the problem with you is you just got uppity".

So this tale is about remembering where you came from and knowing who you are.
