Friedrich Scheele
Agreement between Friedrich Scheele, as Grantor, and Herman Brandes and his
wife, Ernestine, as Grantees, recorded 19 June 1878 in the Office of the
Register of Deeds for Dodge County, Wisconsin in Volume 401 of Bonds, Page 1879.
In consideration of the deed given to Friedrich, he agreed to provide Herman
and Ernestine the following items each year during the remainder of their lives:
- $25
- 25 bushels of wheat
- 20 bushels of good potatoes
- 10 bushels of corn
- 1 fat hog of 250 lbs. weight
- 1 fat sheep
- 100 lbs. of beef
- 1/2 barrel of salt
- 24 dozen eggs
- food, pasture, stabling for 2 cows and 1 sheep
- all fuel prepared for the stove as demanded
- to leave in quiet and peaceable possession of the big room of the dwelling
house
- the use of 1/2 of the cellar and of the well and all roads and paths on
the farm
- the use of 1/2 acre west of the well
- the use of 1/2 of the garden and 1/2 of the fruits grown on the farm
- 2 lbs. of coffee every month and 2 lbs. of sugar
- the use of a team of horses from time to time to go to the mill or to pay
a visit
- to take care of them when they are sick and to do housework, washing and
ironing
- after either Herman or Ernestine dies, to provide the survivor, one-half
of the above-described items
