John C. Kohn
Agreement between John C. Kohn, as Grantor, and John Kohn and his wife,
Margaret, as Grantees, recorded 13 Sept 1889 in the Office of the Register of
Deeds for Dodge County, Wisconsin in Volume 11 of Miscellaneous, Page 431.
In consideration for the deed to the farm, John agreed to pay his parents the
following items each year:
- 30 bushels of wheat or products thereof in flour or feed
- 30 bushels of potatoes in the cellar
- 50 bushels of oats
- 50 bushels of corn
- 2 pigs each spring as long as they require or as long as they shall be
able to feed and care for the same. If they are unable to do so, then in
lieu of the corn and pigs to give them 300 lbs. of pork from pigs less than 1
year old
- between April 1st and October 1st, to provide 2 dozen eggs each week
- 1 dozen spring chickens
- $75
- to keep for their use for two years from the date of the agreement--6 head
of young cattle now on the premises with feed and pasture
- also to keep for their sole use as long as they require or are able to
care for: 2 cows (which John is to feed and care but not milk); 1 horse
(which John is to hitch and harness when demanded) and 2 sheep
- to provide firewood (cut, split and delivered)
- to furnish shelter for a buggy and cutter
- to give them full use and possession of the west wing of the house and
also the large room and bedroom of the upright part downstairs
- the use of a garden west of the house in size about 4 rods by 12 rods
- the privilege of drawing water from the wells
- the use of 1/2 of the vegetable garden
- when they are unable to milk and make their own butter, to furnish milk
and butter as needed
- to keep for two years, if required, 1 horse and 2 colts, which John is to
feed and care
- to provide one-half of the above-items upon the death of one of the
parents
