Johann Wilhelm Goebel was born 1 Oct 1803 in Ehlscheid, Prussia, the son of Johann Thiel Goebel and Mary Magdalena Frantz.  He married Anna on 27 Oct 1833 in Rengsdorf, Prussia.  His death date is unknown but occurred sometime between 1870 and 1875.

Anna Sophia Kleinmann was born 23 Oct 1812 in Ehlscheid, Prussia, the daughter of Johann Wilhelm Kleinman and Louisa ________.  She died 7 Oct 1891 in the Town of Portland and is buried in the Second Reformed Cemetery in the Town of Lowell.  The picture above is of Anna.
 

CHILDREN OF JOHANN AND ANNA:

1.  Albertina born in 1840 in Ehlscheid, Prussia.  She married Melchior Bickel in 1859 in the Town of Lowell.  She died 18 May 1915 in the Town of Portland.

2.  Christina born 8 Sept 1841 in Ehlscheid, Prussia.  She married Peter Christman in 1864 in the Town of Lowell.  She died 29 July 1900 in the Town of Portland.

3.  Mary

4.  Johann Wilhelm born 24 Dec 1842 in Ehlscheid, Prussia.  He married Hulda Wolfgram at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Lowell on 12 Sept 1870.  He died 8 Feb 1912 in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.

5.  George Wilhelm born 11 October 1846 in Ehlscheid, Prussia.  He married Mary Miller.  He died 1 April 1890 in the Town of Lowell.

6.  Johann Wilhelm born 30 Oct 1849 in Ehlscheid, Prussia.  He married Anna Katherine Jung at the Second Reformed Church in the Town of Lowell on 13 Dec 1872.  He died 10 Feb 1925.

7.  Philip Johann born 16 May 1854 in Ehlscheid, Prussia.  His second marriage was to Anna Maria Auguste Krueger on 23 Jan 1890.  He died 17 July 1942 in Reeseville.

8.  Anna Maria Louise born 21 April 1855 in Ehlscheid, Prussia.  She married John Kohn on 20 Mar 1874 in the Town of Lowell.  She died 23 Dec 1927 in the Town of Lowell

"Ehlscheid:  Den 1. November liesen Johann Wilhlem Kleinmann und Louisa, beyde Eheleuthe, ihr den 23. Oct. gebornes Toechterlein taufen.  Gevattern waren:  Synodscheffen Johann Christ Schmitt, Johann Wilhelm Hertzog und Anna Sophia, des Johann Wilhelm Jost seine eheliche Hausfrau, alle zu Ehlscheid.  Kindes Nahme is Anna Sophia."

From the marriage record of Johann and Anna:

"Ehlscheid:  Johannes Wilhelm Goebel, nachgelassener, ehelicher, lediger Sohn des verstorbenen Thiel Goebel von Ehlschid, (geboren den 1. October 1803) wurde mit Anna Sophia Kleinmann, ehelichen ledigen Tochter des Johann Wilhelm Kleinmann von Ehlscheid (geboren den 23 October 1812) copuliert am 27. October."

Johann Wilhelm Goebel was the schoolteacher in Ehlscheid.  He emigrated with his family to the United States in 1856.

NOTE:  Ehlschied and Rengsdorf are two villages located just to the northeast of the city of Neuweid, which is situated on the Rhine River to the north of the major city of Koblenz.
