JOHANN WILHELM ETSCHEID

ALBERTINE VELTEN

 

Johann Wilhelm Etscheid was born 4 Jan 1811 in Bonefeld, Prussia.  He died 28 Feb 1888 in the Town of Portland and is buried in the Second Reformed Cemetery in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Albertine Velten was born 23 Oct 1807 in Bonefeld, Prussia.  She died 16 Aug 1873 in the Town of Portland and is buried in the Second Reformed Cemetery in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

NOTE:    Bonefeld is a small village located to the northeast of the city of Neuweid, which is situated on the Rhine River in Germany just to the north of the major city of Koblenz.  The main market and adminstrative town for Bonefeld is Rengsdorf.

Johann emigrated with his family to the United States in 1856.

1.  Anna Sophia   born 17 July 1837 in Germany.  She married Johann Lorenz Schaller on 28 Sept 1862 in Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin.  She died 4 Oct 1881 and is buried in the Village of Lowell cemetery.

2.  George H.  born 21 Jan 1841 in Germany.  He married Eugenia W. Kuntz on 23 Mar 1868 in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin.  He died 14 Mar 1924 in Reeseville and is buried in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus, Wisconsin.

3.  John William  born 18 Feb 1845 in Bonefeld, Germany.  He married Augusta Christina Wolters on 7 Nov 1868 in the Second Reformed Church of the Town of Lowell.  She died 10 Nov 1896 and on 20 Feb 1898, John William married his second wife, Anna Stuhlmacher, in Reeseville.  He died 10 Feb 1907 in the Town of Lowell and is buried in the Second Reformed Cemetery.

4.  Anna Louise   born 18 Dec 1852 in Germany.  She married August Sommercorn on 3 Dec 1874.  She died 8 Jan 1935.

3.  The North 1/2 of the Northeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 12, Township 9 North, Range 13 East, in the Town of Portland.

4.  The Southwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 12,Township 9 North, Range 13 East, in the Town of Portland.

The 1880 tax records for the Town of Portland show Johann Wilhelm Etscheid as owning the following lands:
