MARIE MARGARETHE SOLDNER

Sunday April 22nd marked the final struggle in the life of Mrs. George Soldner.  For many months an invalid, her death did not come unexpected, but the keen pangs that death always brings, were no less keen in her passing away.  A kind christian mother who bore life's ills bravely, and though at times her life was darked with disease nevertheless she made the valiant fight and bore her heavy load with silence and resignation.  Mrs. Soldner whose maiden name was Marie Margarette Soldner was born in Bavaria Germany on the 26th day of Dec., 1841.  She came with her parents to this country in 1852 and has resided in the towns of Lowell and Elba ever since.  In 1856 she was married to John George Soldner, her wedded life was blessed with 12 children of which 10 children survive, namely:  Mrs. John Neuberger, Mrs. Charles Knupple, Mrs. Henry Koehler of the town of Lowell; Mrs. Wm. Will of Watertown, Mrs. Henry Weihert of Shields, Miss Caroline and Louis on the homestead, George, Charles and Willie in Minnesota.  Her husband died four years ago.  Her funeral took place Tuesday afternoon and was attended by a large number of friends and neighbors.  The services were conducted by Rev. E.R. Schauer and the remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
