In the library of the Lunney House Museum, Dana Moore,
Seneca City Councilman, welcomes Dr. John Martin, House
Museum Manager. Dr. Martin will volunteer his time and
expertise to the Museum and to the Restoration Project
-The New South- "Renewal & Contunuance".
In this stewardship role, he will direct and coordinate the
diverse daily operations of the Museum - will focus on the
itegrity of the Museum collecion - and will work toward
creating an environment that stimulates community interest.
Dr. Martin has invited Margaurette Getz, Assistant House
Museum Director, Middleton Place Foundation & The
Edmondston-Alston House, Charleston, SC, to serve as an
advisor to the restoration project.
In the Arts & Crafts style, there is a 72 inch high flat panel wainscot wall treatment
with
forest green burlap inserts. The inserts are separated by slow growth long leaf pine
framework and crowned with a 5 inch plate rail.
The English Tile fireplace is framed with quarter sawn oak. The mantel and wainscot
above the fireplace are also quarter sawn oak
up to the plate rail.
The dining room is a part of Phase 1 (January 1 to May 27, 2010)
