Soup's on!

The day started out with record low temperatures.  30 Degrees in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin...  As I started cooking, I thought to myself... Boy, am I glad I'm inside and not riding down the highway in these sub-freezing temperatures... anyone who shows up at my house today either really loves riding, really loves soup, or really needs to seek some professional help... As the afternoon and evening went on I discovered the real reason all of these people showed up...  they just wanted to finally meet those anonymous people with which they have so often share stories, good humor and advice with over the internet.

This year people came from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

I'm pretty sure everyone who attended had a good time.

Following are some pictures of the days events.  One day I'll buy a high-resolution camera that takes some nice pictures.

Here are the bikes that showed up in my driveway (with the exception of one... we'll get to that later)
These are the people that attended the 2nd Annual Soup Run. L to R: Chris (Poetor), Jeff, Bob (BigBobber), Mark (Waterguy), Ray (RayK2), Steve (Suvvy), Jeff (SUM1NMN) Glenn, Matt (ZR7S), Roger (Lonerider), Rob (Mr. Soup), Gary (GDM62) (picture courtesy of Mark) This is Alan (Tbirder).  He also attended the Soup Run, but was a little late and did not get into the Group Picture on the left. (we'll get to that later)

Ray, Jeff, Chris and Steve discussing how nice the day turned out to be. Soup's on!
Chris (POETOR) came to my house all the way from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  He shared some good stories and literally made the Soup Run an International Event.  Roger (Lonerider) and Glenn.  They came up from the Kenosha area.

And now it's later...  This is Rob (Mr. Soup) on the left and Alan (Tbirder) on the right.  When this picture was taken, Alan just got off of his bike after completing a trip of 1169 miles!  His goal was to complete a Saddle Sore 1000 Iron Butt ride (1000 miles in less than 24 hours) on his way to the Soup Run.  He did it!  Congratulations Alan.  I can't begin to tell you how honored I am to have the Soup Run as the finishing point of your ride.  Way to go!

Thank you all for coming!  I had a great time meeting all of you and sharing a beautiful afternoon.

Let's do it again next year!

Soup's on!
