Wrote: My boyfriend, son and I were camping outside of Leesberg, Va after my boyfriend's Mom was a hippo's bottom end. My little person was playing w/2 other boys down by the "pond". The 3 of them came up holding a whole bunch of snakes. We're from Fla. so my son doesn't know a whole lot about snakes from that area. I of course had to ask my boyfriend, "Oh, my god Frankie what kind of snakes are those. Please don't tell me what I think they are!" He had to tell me that yeah, they were Cottonmouth's. My heart dropped to the bottom when I had to say to my 9 year old + friends, "Malacai, you are going to kindly take your buddies up that hill. Frankie is going to step on their baby snake heads 1 by 1 w/his boot. After he does, the 3 of you are going to run like real fast back up here so that none of them chase you." They were barefooted, all 3 of them. I had to explain to them that where there were babies, there was bound to be a real fired up momma. Then I had to ground the little person from fishing there and his new buddies. I will never forget that day. |
