At first I was not going to put this on my web site because I don't normally work in soft woods and Redwood is not known as a fine furniture wood. I decided that it should be here because this part of my web page is also a record of the woods I have milled and worked with and gone through the process of learning about. The Redwood I have is the same as the Redwood that can be purchased from any lumber yard with the exception that mine did not come from a forest. I have two boards that are each about 12" x 1 3/4" x 8' they are all that I have left from a 26" diameter 2nd growth Redwood tree that was growing in my backyard and had to be removed because it was cracking the foundation of the house and shop. Both boards are heartwood and nearly free of knots. I have been offered another redwood tree but have not seen it yet.
