Woodcarver's Tree at 2006 Festival of Trees - Celebration of Giving
November 21-26, 2006 - Mayo Civic Center Exhibit Hall, Rochester, MN
This year's theme was called "Christmas Remembered".

The 2006 Festival of Trees is now history and once again you the members of the Carving Club have outdone yourselves on this years Carver's Tree. The positive response to the tree was overwhelming and it drew many, many positive comments from all who saw it. Tom Pike's base with its nativity scene on two sides and its nicely decorated mantles was marveled at; Robert Ricks fire talked about; Laurie Reed and Janet Denn's tree topper admired; John Gordon's shelf Santa enjoyed; and the great variety of ornaments were continually questioned as to how they could have been hand carved. The collection of toys under the tree added an additional dimension to our Christmas Remembered.

The tree, this year contained 131 ornaments(a record) contributed by: Karen Reilly, Frieda Carter, Mary DeVinny, Dennis Tooley, Wayne Hendrickson, Don Buske, Chris Christianson, Dwayne Schacht, John Gordon, Lou Vangalis, Ione Chase, Millard Vitse, Lavern Schettl, Ken Brown, Trent Busch, Ron Bymers, Ellie Lamb, Randy Kinnick, Frank Folkert, Marilyn Kastler, Cheryl Jones, Nancy Borenson, Bev Stupca, Chuck Stupca, Larry Padgett, Gary Kolb, Bob Nowicki, Christy Vitse, Mike Paulis, Janet Denn, Gary Berg, Louise Forbes, Dick & Arliss Norstad, Bill Kittley, Robert Ricks, Delphine Nelson, and Steve Murray.

If you did not have opportunity to see the tree at the Festival, see the pictures posted below by Tom Severson. Tom did an excellent job of capturing the essence of the tree.
