Bastonne
This city's historic play in the Battle of the Bulge in 1945 is still remembered. In the center of the town square sits a 4th Armored Division Tank. Nearby is a large bronze bust of General Patton. If you drive from Kaiserslauern (near Ramstein Air Force Base) through Luxembourg toward Malmedy about 4 miles from Bastonne there is a sign for all to see: "VISIT THE NUTS MUSEUM"! Ha, even the Belgiums enjoyed this - and continue to do so!
Rescue mission impossible? Not for THE GENERAL and his 3d Army troops calling Fort Bragg home!
