This city doesn't have to be expensive to visit.To get there leave from Dover for Mildenhall AFB England direct. If you can't manifest on this flight, take a flight into Ramstein AFB, Germany and check their departures for Mildenhall. Use the DSN (the military's version of Ma Bell without the cost involved. Call any passenger terminal for information on that particular AFB. Phone listings are in each terminal. This can be done stateside also, but only within CONUS unless you have authorization). There is also a Scheduled Freedom Bird Flight direct from Atlanta to Mildenhall that at present leaves every Monday. Space A flights to Atlanta can be had from Charleston International Airport on Fridays and Sundays with final destination Panama/Honduras. Usually one can manifest if only going to Atlanta with little problem. Flights also go from Rhein Main to Mildenhall. Use the DSN to contact Rhein Main for a schedule. To get to Rhein Main catch a duty bus that runs 3 times daily from Ramstein to Rhein Main. Space A is usually no problem. Ride takes about 2 hours or so. To get to London from Mildenhall you can take a daily civilian contract bus that takes you to Victoria Station(The bus continues on to Heathrow & Gatweick). Show your military ID card and you are on the way! You can also return to Mildenhall from London on this bus (about 12 hours later). The schedule for this bus run is posted in the Mildenhall Terminal. Or take a taxi to a nearby rail head (really, out in the "boonies" and you can catch a train into London with one change in Cambridge. The taxi driver knows where, and the cost for the taxi is around $10.00. Near the Marble Arch (Hyde Park area) is the Victory Services Club at 63-79 Seymour St, London W2 2HF. Well, they are a friendly lot on the whole, but do speak with a funny accent, don't you know.
