I know what you guys are thinking...
This is the Official Alex Winter homepage, who the hell is this
guy? And, for that matter, who the hell is Tom Stern? Ahem. Tim
has earned his place along side of these two in our halls of
excellence. Not yet convinced? Well, here are just a few of his
amazing credentials.
- wrote "Freaked" along
with Tom and Alex.
- wrote "The Idiot Box"
with Tom and Alex.
- co-wrote the Monkey-ed Movies with
Tom
- co-wrote "An American Werewolf
in Paris" with Tom
- developing "Goofy Gus" a
short animated film with Tom again
- co-wrote the screenplay "Dick
Future: Future Dick" with Tom
- wrote "The Idiot Box"
theme music
- wrote "Pick-a-Freek",
"Freekz (that's what they call us)", AND
"The Weinerschnitzel Polka" songs for
"Freaked"
- was The Hideous Frawgman
- wrote the screenplay for
"Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang"
Now, I know what you guys are thinking: "Doesn't this
guy have a career of his own?" For your information, Tim has just wrapped up
writing a children's movie
that he did on his own, thank you very much (based on a story by
another guy and directed by someone else...). No matter how much
Tom and Alex don't want to acknowledge the existence of the
aforementioned Mr. Burns, we here at Freekland took it as our
personal responsibility to let you know that Tim Burns is a real
person with real feelings and not just an anagram for "Who's
wearing my cravat?".

T I M B
U R N S B I OTim
began his writing with CBC Radio Comedy, and moved on to TV
shows including "The Jim Henson Hour", MTV's "The Idiot Box",
and Nelvana's "Sam and Max". Along with
Tom Stern, Tim wrote the
hilarious and popular "Monkeyed Movies" for TBS Superstation,
featuring live chimpanzees acting out scenes from famous movies.
Tim went on to co-create, produce and head write "The Chimp
Channel", a half-hour series on TBS. Tim's feature work includes
co-writing the films "Freaked" and "An American Werewolf in
Paris". Most recently, Tim won both a Canadian Comedy award and
a Writer's Guild award for the screenplay to "Jacob Two Two
Meets the Hooded Fang", adapted from Mordecai Richler's popular
children's novel. Tim also composed the original songs for the
film, one of which was nominated for a Genie (the Canadian
equivalent of an Oscar a really small one).
