For several years I have been researching my Haskins - Hoskins ancestors and have found it to been one of the most frustrating families in my entire ancestry. I finally decided to start my own HASKINS - HOSKINS website for the benefit of all those researchers who are researching the same surnames in hopes that we can help each other.
Please feel free to browse thru my files. PLEASE let me know if you have additional information on this family and I will add it to the database for the benefit of other researchers. Please include sources for your information. Documenting your sources is one of the most important steps in genealogy research.
New York and Wisconsin HASKINS - The biggest reason that I've had trouble researching the HASKINS families is the absence of records and made more difficult by the different spellings. In the mid 1700s, many members of the Hoskins family started to migrate west into New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. Records are almost non-existent for that period and most of the family didn't stay in one place for very long. If you have any records that you would like to add, please email them to me as a .txt or .doc file.
