After the Boss Battle

After the scene you find yourself in Traverse Town! Walk around the corner and you find yourself in a new world! Walk around and talk to people if you want to. The important thing is to visit the accessory shop. Once inside you are first insulted and then befriended by Cid the shop-keeper. You don't have any munny yet so you can't get anything. Move on to the second district by heading out of the door and going left, left, and then right. You should go up a flight of stairs and end up in front of a door.
Note: In your adventures around Travers Town you may find strange colored symbols. These will be important later but they are useless right now.
Once in the Second District you will see a strange scene in which a townsperson's heart is sucked out by a heartless. Now the entire city instantly contains Heartless (funny how fast things happen). To fight the creatures called Shadows is not that difficult. Just attack. However, you need to be careful of the large groups they attack with. The little health you have dissappears rather fast if they all attack at once. Fight your way through some shadows (they just keep coming don't try and kill them all) to get over to the hotel on your left. At this point you will see a cinematic. Walk all the way through the hotel hall and out the door at the other end.
Note: There are a few cinematics that show Donald and Goofy looking for Leon. You cannot run into them until later so don't try.
Next head into the door up the stairs and to the right. This is the gizmo shop and again you cannot do a lot of things in here yet, but this will play an important part later. Head to the other side of the room and out the door. Examine the ladder if you want, however it as well is of no use yet. Jump down into the alley and walk towards the dead end. Take a left into the white door to see yet another cinematic with Donald and Goofy close behind. Inside you will learn about one of the sidequests, the 99 dalmations. Walk through the house and exit into the alleyway. This area has plenty of shadows but also plenty of treasures. Get the potion on the balcany, the pretty stone on the roof by the far edge (check the maps for exact locations), and the other potion next to the crates. Then exit into the second district. Take a left and go down the first passageway after the stairs. At the end of the passageway there is a door leading to the third district. In here look around if you want, however your friends are still nowhere to be found. Head back to the accessory shop in the first district when you're ready. Talk to Cid and save (I highly recommend you do) if you want to and then head outside. After the cinematic you will be forced into battle with Leon.

This guy is hard although you don't have to win the battle! If you lose the story still progresses. However if you win you get 30 experience points and an elixer later. First thing to do is to run down the stairs so you have more room to manuveur. Once down here Leon will follow you and either walk towards or away from you. If he walks towards you that means he is going to do a physical attack. Walk close to him and he will start to attack and as long as you keep running in the same direction you should avoid being hit. Then quickly attack and run in the opposite direction before getting hit. If he walks away that means that he is getting ready to do his fire attack. This is really ease to dodge. Just run in one direction and as long as its not towards Leon the attack will miss. I usually make a small circle around Leon and then when he is done firing his attack I'm ready to attack myself.
After the battle you will see a cinematic (this happens whether you win or lose but the winning cinematic is more amusing). Talk to Yuffie and then jump on the table and open the treasure chest to get an elixer. Then talk to Leon (he really is Squall) and tell him you're ready and the real fun begins. Walk down the alleyway and take the first door on your left. Fight the Heartless here if you want, but go up the stairs and around the walkway. Go back to the First District and talk to Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith. Talking to Aerith will get you a Mega-Potion. Next go back to the Second District and continue into the third district. Walk forward and you finally meet up with Donald and Goofy! Now you have two teammates to battle with. Here's how this works, Donald starts out as a mage and will always cast magic. Goofy is physical. For the moment thats how it is whether you like it or not. Later, you can change the actions they're allowed to use, but not yet. Defeat the simple enemies here and then its boss time.

This guy is actually really easy. He has two main attacks. The first is a spinning fist move which you can block for 2 experience points and the second is a stomp, punch, or slam move. Just keep whacking away and heal when necessary. I usually start with the hands, then the feet, and finally the body. If you attack the body first it won't die though so be careful.
Once the battle is over the Heartless will dissappear and you will recieve Brave Warrior for winning. A cinematic follows and you recieve 100 munny from all of them. If you won the battle against Leon you get an Elixer as well. After the giving of gifts you learn how to use magic and abilities. Now buy whatever you want to buy and get ready to leave. When you are ready head for the accessory shop. I don't suggest getting any accessories yet as they don't do much for you yet and they cost quite a lot of money. I do suggest getting some potions in the item store if you are new to the battle system or are having problems with it. I would suggest getting about five in stock. If you don't want to waste munny make sure you buy at least one potion as you will need it later. Also if you would like to get a camping set in a little bit buy an Ether as well. Make sure you transfer one to Sora's immediate use slot. After you are done buying items I suggest you save and then head for the exit.
Note: You can now use the Blue Trinity marks by having Donald, Goofy, and Sora in your party and selecting Trinity on the mini-menu.
Note: Now that you can use blue trinity marks you can activate the two blue trinities in Traverse Town. Use the map if you need to find them.
This is the world map! It shows the different places you can go with the gummi ship. You will need to go to both places, but the best place to go first is the top right one. Choose that destination and depart! In the section that appears next you will learn how to fly and shoot with the gummy ship. This is an interesting way to gain items and also another way to die! Thankfully this doesn't get hard for a long time. Actually, if you don't do anything you will still survive!
