LAN Party: What to bring
You will need the following to come to a LAN party:

The computer (obvious) and any power cables your main computer case needs
Monitor preferably 17" for space but any size will do and the power cords
Speakers if you would like to bring them and all the cables
Keyboard and mouse with cables
NIC (Network Interface Card) if it is not installed bring it seperate and we can install it at the party. Try and come early so we can get that set up right away. Also bring your windows discs for the drivers or any cd that came with the card.
Ethernet cable if you have any (see below)
The games (obvious) however make sure you play them once online before coming and ensure you have all the patches for the game

How to check for a Network Card
First look at the back of your main computer case. If you have recently purchased a new computer you may have one standard as most of the major computer manufacturers requires a network card. Check the builtin network port as indicated below first and then if you do not have one continue on.

If you do not have one you may have a regular PCI card installed so check the PCI slots as indicated in the picture above. If you do not have an ethernet port please get an NIC and bring it to the LAN party. You can find them just about anywhere for very little money. I recommend getting a linksys or 3com as they are well known brand names that will most likely supply tech support or warranties with their cards.

In addition if you have any ethernet cable (see image below) I would most appreciate your bringing it as it is one less thing to buy. Ethernet cable looks a lot like phone cord except it has wider plugs on the ends. If you have broadband internet you may have this going between your cable/DSL modem and your computer.
