Here is the front of the house,
showing the new veranda built to match
the original. We were able to salvage the original turned posts and all
but one of the original fan brackets for reuse. We will also be able to
rebuild the original door, despite its having been savagely kicked to
pieces by local transients, thanks to
the skill of our phenomenally talented foreman. Yes, we indeed do have
the technology. Actually, I'll believe it when I see it; that
door is pretty well spintered to heck.
By the way, this color scheme
reflects common practice at the time the
Farm House was built, both in the colors chosen and the way various
elements are picked out.
