This is the north gable, seen through a large oak (it is very hard
to
get a picture of the house without including a tree). Note the
bargeboard
running along the eave, the fishscale shingles, and the pedimented
(pointed-top)
casing around the vent. Note also the belt course between the shingles
of the gable and the shiplap of the first floor. The two windows below
and to the sides of the vent were added later.
