MISSION STATEMENT: Rolling Thunder's major function is to publicize the POW-MIA issue; educate the public about the American prisoners of war left behind after all past wars; to help correct the past and protect the future veterans from being left behind should they become prisoners of war-missing in action. We are committed to helping American veterans from all wars |

WHAT WE ARE NOT:: We are not a motorcycle club: Even though many of our members do own and ride motorcycles. Members are not required to own, ride or even have an interest in bikes. We are not a veterans club: While many members are veterans, having served in the military is not a requirement for membership... |
Rolling Thunder North Carolina Chapter 2 Meetings are held at 2:00pm
the first Sunday of the month at American Legion Post #401, 304 S. Main Street
in Troutman (the corner of Cedar Lane and S. Main Street ). Visitors are welcome
and encouraged to attend anytime. Our largest event is the annual "Rolling Thunder" in Washington DC which is held on Memorial Day weekend. On this weekend several hundred thousand people on motorcycles, in cars, in trucks all decorated with POW-MIA and American flags converge at the parking lots at the Pentagon. At noon the ride starts, it goes through DC and stops at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. This protest ride is to demand the fullest possible accounting of the POWs and MIAs. At the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, there are speeches from activists, singers of patriotic songs, many POW-MIA related displays. . . . |
