The Rock Valley Quilter’s Guild started in 1980 with a charter membership of 35.  We now have over 200 members.  Our primary goals of sharing in quilting skills, past history of quilting, and learning new techniques, are reached through workshop opportunities as well as outside speakers.

We meet the third Tuesday of each Month (except in August) at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 2416 N. Wright Rd Janesville.

Bella Bella Quilting Workshop

October 21, 2009

Cost $35.00

8 AM to 3 PM

Norah McMeeking, will be giving a workshop on paper piecing mosaics.  Her inspirations are the beautiful patterns on the floors of old Italian churches.  The pattern she will be teaching is Cosmati Rings I. For a sneak peek, check out her website  Bellabellaquilts.com.  It looks hard but is not. There are many people interested in this workshop and if there are enough people, she will offer a second workshop.  Please contact CeCe Petzke, Phone 608-754-4532, 608-359-6651 or Email cece2814@sbcglobal.net.  It is important to know how many are interested so we can sign her up for a second class.  We don’t want to disappoint anyone. Please leave message and CeCe will get back to you.

Cosmati Rings I

This workshop introduces ring foundation piecing using two easy “blocks.” The center roundel can be a compass, plain fabric, or an applique design (those variations are available for class) making this a very versatile pattern. Easy methods for making multiple foundations for the pieced border are included. Construction for the curved corner sections is readily accomplished use a few clever tricks and the large curves are easily machine pieced. Beginners can make this quilt!
