The Mass Frenzy organization began in 2004. Started by Brian Klaes and Ralph Loos, the idea behind Mass Frenzy was a simple one.
“DO THINGS BETTER”
Both Brian and Ralph felt that an AAU organization could be run differently than what they had both experienced. A well-run organization could communicate better, run more efficiently, and develop high-level successful athletes. The goal was to create an AAU organization that would be responsive to the needs of the players and parents who are a part of our “family”.
In 2007, Mass Frenzy was officially organized as a registered non-profit organization in the state of Massachusetts. Our application for federal 501 (c) 3 status was approved in April of 2010.
As we begin our ninth full season, we have expanded from our one original team, to seven teams in the spring of 2012. Our teams draw the best talent from over 30 towns ranging from the Berkshires to northern Connecticut, and east toward Worcester..
As an organization that prides itself on player development we are thrilled that our former players have gone on to make an impact at the collegiate level. Some of our current college players are:
Taylor Desanty - Colby Sawyer
Mariah Lesure - Saint Joseph's University (PA)
Jamy Ferris - Nichols College
Kait Veit - Hartwick College
Jenna Klaes - Wesleyan University
Justine King - WNEU
Katrina Caulfield - Hartwick College
Katie Eckert - WNEU
Kristin Calvo - Bates
Sarah Whitestone - Nichols
Laura Ann Dinan - Salve Regina
Aliah Curry - Norwich
Lauren Halla - ECSU
In addition several of our current (2012) high school seniors have made commitments to some great schools and basketball programs:
Kristen Ferola - Babson
In our history we have also seen our teams accomplish many milestones on the court:
Multiple Massachusetts State Championships
Div I AAU National Qualifier
Tow-Time New England Super-Regional Champions
Multiple State State Medalist
West Coast Nationals 4th Place
AAU National Championship Bracket Qualifier
Bay State Games Bronze Medalist
We are very proud of all our players and coaches. They are what make the Frenzy organization special. As our initial idea states, we will continue to try to find way to “do things better” as we move forward, and continue to develop Frenzy into one of the top AAU programs in New England.
