About the Table

The Table began in September of 1995 when a group from St. Augustine's visited a similar project at St. Luke's in Whitewater.  They shared their experience with the Vestry at St. Augustine's and found that it was feasible to institute a project of their own, and named it "The Table."

The last two days of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., anyone may come to the Guild Hall at 39 S. Pelham in Rhinelander for a free meal, community spirit, and fellowship.  It is an opportunity to get out of the house and socialize while someone else does the cooking and cleaning.  For those who are low on funds at the end of the month, it is an excellent way to get a well-rounded meal that uses the five food groups.  Meals are served family style, and anyone is welcome for any reason, no questions asked.

On average there are 85-125 visitors to The Table each day it is held.
