    UT Southwestern Medical Center
    Marketing Manager and Web writer, 2010-11
    Contributed to revising, rewriting and reorganizing written content for the re-launch of both the new UTSouthwestern.edu website and the new MyUTSouthwestern intranet site. Created new content for the re-launch, ranging from employee profiles to feature stories and news briefs. Wrote content for system’s consumer magazine, UT Southwestern MED and for other web venues including SimmonsCancerCenter.org. Drafted initial version of system’s first internal style guide

    Texas Health Resources
    Senior Communications Specialist, 2005-10; senior writer (2007-10)
    Worked in both print and online publications management, first as managing editor of My THR Connection (employee intranet) then as editor of broadsheet quarterly employee newsletter, The Source and four-color quarterly employee magazine, also called The Source.

    As senior writer, contributed to all corporate communications vehicles, including internal speech-writing and e-mail composition for chief executive officer and other leadership. Served (2006-09) as corporate/internal communications liaison to external/media relations group. Created and launched initial system-wide e-newsletter, Texas Health Weekly. Created and published first system-wide Texas Health Style Guide to corporate intranet for general reference and use.

    Coordinated editing 14 system and hospital-specific monthly newsletters, first in print (The Promise Press) and then as e-newsletters. Coordinated communications for annual system internal ("Texas Health Associates") and external (United Way) employee fundraisers via Texas Health Harris Methodist and Presbyterian Foundations.

    Responsible for developing and implementing online external media relations strategies, identifying new ways of communicating with media and directly with customers, integrating online media into AA's existing media relations approach, and developing success criteria for online outreach. As a member of the AA Product & Revenue Communications team, also responsible for ensuring appropriate media coverage for several corporate departments, including Food & Beverage.

    Managing Editor, Employee Publications, 2000-01; 2003-04
    Managed internal communications team in the process of developing and publishing print and electronic employee publications, ranging from daily e-mail newsletters to monthly four-color newspapers. Wrote and distributed HeAAds Up!, an on-demand electronic newsletter distributed to more than 3,000 managers throughout the system. Coordinated the Front-Line Communicators, a collection of more than 60 representatives from all departments with employee communications responsibilities. Oversaw ongoing development and implementation of systemwide style guide.

    Responsible for story selection and placement on Jetnet, the Web portal for the 130,000 employees of American Airlines, American Eagle and TWA. Retained responsibility for AMR Publishing Board and systemwide style guide.

    Coordinated readiness analysis of American Airlines intranet content for migration to Jetnet; led training of content owners in Interwoven Teamsite, the corporate-approved content management tool.
