Web "guru" Jakob Nielsen:
E-mail newsletters, done well, drive news and information to colleagues, clients and customers who not only want that information, but look forward to receiving it. Of course, it's the "done well" part that's tricky ... |

American Airlines
Early in 2002, the Jetnet team launched a subscription-only
e-mail newsletter designed to provide advance information about
corporate events and upgrades to the extranet site. The call-it-what-it-is
name of this publication is Jetnet Mail.
When the Teamsite User
Group (see below) was absorbed into the AMR Publishing Board in October of
2001, the newsletter was re-purposed for an expanded audience of
more than 300 editors and Webmasters systemwide. The original name,
JetWired, was a play on the American Airlines daily internal news
bulletin, Jetwire; again, after a reader contest, the publication
was re-named @aa.
While overseeing content management implementation before release
of the new employee portal, founded Teamsite Weekly for all editors and
content owners participating in Phase I; publication was re-named
TeamCast following a reader contest.
