Kelly Fleming "Wonders What You Dream"

Popular Folk Singer Relocates from California to Cleveland

Just three years ago, Kelly Fleming was named "Musician of the Year" by the Nevada City (CA) Chamber of Commerce. Now, he has come to Cleveland -- to stay!

While Fleming is probably best-known for his Irish folk and blues/rock styles of play, the singer-songwriter-guitarist has a wide range of musical talents. These will be on display throughout the greater Cleveland area nearly every weekend; a schedule of live shows is available on Fleming’s Web site at http://junior.apk.net/~kfleming/. The site also includes samples from and information about his new CD, I Wonder What You Dream.

"My performances are a mixture of humorous and serious material," he says. "The humorous material covers everyday problems like looking for a parking space and reincarnation -- okay, maybe that's not an 'everyday' problem. The more serious songs focus on love, loss, and humanity."

Fleming has performed in a variety of venues throughout California, Ireland, Alaska, and Northern Ohio over the past 20 years, including concerts, coffee houses, folk festivals, and television and radio appearances. He performs both his original music and covers artists such as James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bruce Cockburn, Tom Waits, John Gorka, David Lindley, Mark Graham, and Utah Phillips.

Phillips, the well-known folk singer and humorist, says of Fleming, +for years, he has regaled us with the gift of song, for which all of us are supremely grateful ... [his light-hearted presence, the humorous greeting on the street. [He has] the open-handed generosity that characterizes all members of our ancient trade."

KVMR Radio calls Fleming "spry, witty and cantankerous," while The Union Prospector describes him as "an excellent finger-picking guitarist and singer."

Fleming, the son of early jazz musician Van Fleming, is a native of southern California. He lives in Cleveland with his wife Eileen, an Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
