The Bratcher Family

The newest addition to our family Abigail Grace Dies.

Mike is 64 years old and the father of five grown children (what a coincidence just like Sara, except for her age of course). He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1968. He is retired from Tennessee state government and has had Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years. His main interests are the internet, classic Ford cars, and or course Sara and their 5 children, Duane ( who was killed in 1991 by a drunk driver), Dean, Danny, Derek and our daughter Dixie.   He and Sara also are big fans of the Nashville Predators NHL Hockey Team and attend games as often as they can.

Sara is the mother of five grown children and was a carnivore keeper at The Nashville Zoo from 1991 to 2000.  Her main interest at the zoo was the big cats, some of which weigh over 600 lbs.  She is now called upon from time to time to raise baby cats for the Nashville zoo. This is done when the mother rejects them or they are "pulled" in order to make them a better exhibit animal (safer to work with and more at ease around people) or the animal is to be used in an educational program. Her favorite cats are clouded leopards and snow leopards.

See Sara on Animal Planet's "Growing Up Clouded Leopard".

Our son Derek is 30 years old and a service rep for KTM. His favorite hobbies are racing his KTM motorcycle, jet skiing and off roading his Suzuki Samari. He is working on restoring his 1966 Ford Fairlane.

Our 25 year old daughter
Dixie is a graduate of Austin Peay State University.  She is married to Josh Dies who is a self employed flooring installer. Their first child Abigail Grace Dies.
is 3 years old. They are expecting their second child, a son, in August. Dixie and Josh share interests in restoring cars, going to car shows and collecting.

Our son Dan is 39 years old and gave up his job as a firefighter with the Nashville Fire Department to moved to Lubbock, TX where he enroll in Sunset International Bible Institute. He graduated this May and plans on doing mission work in Maceio', Brazil.   His favorite hobby is snow skiing.

Our son Dean is 39 and works for UPS, where he has been working since his graduation from high school. He and his steady girlfriend Sarah enjoy gardening and going to Bonnaroo. This is his 1971 Honda 600. He is a drummer, but most of his spare time is taken up remodeling his new recording studio.

Duane is our son who was killed by a drunk driver in 1991. He would be 41 years old now. He attended David Lipscomb University and worked for the State of Tennessee in the computer services department. He loved to play the guitar and owned 5 of them. He is still in our thoughts and we miss him terribly.
