Buddhist Study Guidelines
- Read Nichiren Daishonin's writings
every day. The foundation of Buddhist learning lies in reading the writings
of Nichiren Daishonin and applying them to our daily lives.
- Incorporate the study of Nichiren
Buddhism in discussion meetings and world peace prayer meetings through
the World
Tribune and Living
Buddhism.
- Promote study meetings on Nichiren
Daishonin's writings. The SGI_USA Study Program for 2008 will focus
on the writings of Nichiren that are covered in President Ikeda's lecture
series appearing in Living Buddhism magazine. Buddhist learning
meetings will be monthly and cover one installment each of the lecture
series based on the scheduled 2008
Buddhist Study
- Encourage everyone to participate
in the Buddhist Learning Review in October - an opportunity for all
members to experience the joy of Buddhist learning.
- Encourage everyone to view and absorb
SGI President Ideka's speeches in the monthly Headquarters Leaders Meeting
videos and as printed in the World
Tribune.
The Writings for Duscussion Meetings
The Writings for Discussion
Meetings series will continue to be published each month in the World
Tribune. The passage covered will relate in some way to the lecture series
installment for that month. This series may include articles on passages
from other writings qoted in that month's lecture series installment.
It is hopes that this series will continue to be used to bring study to
the district, the front line of our movement.
