Fishing the Hiwassee River

This 18 inch rainbow trout was caught and released on the Hiwassee River below the "Stairsteps." It was caught in 90 degree weather using a heavily weighted hand-tied Dredger Booger.

I caught this 20 inch brown trout below the Reliance Bridge near the silos back in February 1996. He fell for a black beadhead Wooly Booger. We had a nice float trip from Reliance to the first downstream picnic area (about 3 miles.)

Lil' Drifter gets in on the action below the "Stairsteps." This fish was caught as we were "cooling off" in the cool Hiwassee whitewater.
