We
will extend our study to a Post which, although situated in an inland position,
was linked in some ways to the Post of Sept-Iles where a band of Montagnais
hunters often met with those attached to Fort Nascopi. This Post was established
in 1838 and continued its operations during a period of over 30 years. The
remnants of this post may be seen on the edge of Lake Pettitikapau, about 20
kilometres south of Schefferville.
