Referrals

Be careful of a referral from a person that will benefit in any way from the sale of that property or has a vested interest.  They tend to have their eye on the prize ($$$) at closing, rather than your best interest. 

 

Smart Look Home Inspection believes there can be a fine line between a great home inspection company and a bad home inspection company.

 

Bad company       

Some Home inspection companies buy their realtor referrals in ways such as paying for lunches and drinks, giving gifts and phony discounts that are already built into the price. also when writing the report they will downplay the major issues and/or not reveal the true condition of the property.  This does keep the referrals coming, however it also creates a company that is realtor dependant, which means they cannot be committed solely to the clients best interests.  do not forget the production line home inspection that completes a full inspection in less than 1˝ hours. That’s right -  no mention of honesty or professionalism!

At Smart Look Home inspection, we use a different approach.  When soliciting business we strictly depend on our great reputation of honesty, professionalism and great customer satisfaction.  we are not part of the sales team.

 

Simply put, We do not solicit real estate companies, its agents or realtors.  This makes it very clear to all realtors that Smart Look Home Inspection’s loyalty is to the client and the client only.  We are not saying that every realtor is unethical, we are simply helping you, the client, avoid the problem areas.  In all honesty, the majority of dissatisfied clients bare some of the blame because they simply went with the realtors referral.  It is just a fact that the clients who do their own research are much more satisfied with their home inspector than finding them through their realtor.

If you hesitate to pay for a professional, consider what it may cost if you hire an amateur. 

 

You are about to invest tens, of hundreds of thousands of dollars,  An additional fifty or a hundred dollars is an inconsequential amount of money to spend in order to protect that investment.

Many home inspectors perform two or three inspections in a single day.  They can accomplish this because they spend no more than 1˝ hours on any single inspection, including report preparation.  At Smart Look, we take a very different approach.  We simply spend as long as it takes.  We schedule no more than one (1) home inspection per day, and we perform it thoroughly. 

Before you mistakenly trust your investment to a “production line” company, ask them how long they will spend performing your inspection.
