About the MMC Basket Auction: Every year Murder in the Magic City does a silent gift basket auction to benefit charity. For the past two years we've been delighted to donate to The Crime Lab Project. This important organization helps raise awareness about underfunded and understaffed crime labs across the country. Last year we raised $1000. Each basket should contain at least one mystery novel, of any subgenre, and items related to the "theme" of that book. For example, a dog-themed basket could contain Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles. There is no limit to how many items or how big the basket should be. Bids start at $20, $30, and $40, so that can be a good guideline about how much to spend when putting one together.
