William Franklin Goedert

William Franklin Goedert is believed to have been born in 1838, location unkown, but possiblly Alsace/Lorraine region(s).
It is believed that William came to America with 3, or 4, siblings through Canada - not proven at this time.
William somehow ended up in Preston, MN.
William, 24, was mustered as a Private in Company A of the 2nd Regiment of the Minnesota Cavalry during The Civil War.
He was inducted Oct 23, 1863 and honorably discharged April 2, 1866.
On February 26, 1867 he married Anna Kemp at the St Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, MO.
Later he moved to Scott County, MO, where he and his family were enumerated in the 1870 and 1880 U.S. Census.
Anna, his wife listed in both census, was born in 1844 in Ohio.
William Franklin is shown in 1870 to come from Luxembourg, 1880 from Germany, and other records from Belgium.
I have learned that William died of pneumonia on or near March 1, 1885.
Anna died on or near May 1, 1885, cause unknown.
Michael Goedert, that lived in Hennepin County, MN, stated in 1892, when he was 61, that he was William's Brother.
After William's death, Michael Brucker was appointed guardian to Andrew, William II, and Martin.
