EVERY FRIDAY, 2:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Downtown Gainesville Market On The Square
This year the Market will be located under the trees on the Downtown Square itself — local farmers with vegetables and fruits, plants, honey, baked goods, cut flowers, and the return of local craftspeople.

Historic Downtown Gainesville Market On The Square

The Historic Downtown Gainesville Market On The Square is a traditional farmers' market. The Market offers fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables raised by local farmers. Other products include local artisan specialties such as organic whole wheat breads, honey, jams, and jellies. This year, we are bringing back local craftspeople with hand-made crafts like goats-milk and herbal soaps, jewelry, wood crafts and more.

BUY FRESH, BUY LOCAL

The goal of the Farmers Market is to provide the freshest, highest quality, homegrown produce in the area, while assisting the farmer in a successful and sustainable location to market his produce. All products sold at the Market are grown within the local area, and are sold by the person who grew or made it, or by an immediate family member. All homemade canned products, baked goods, and freshly prepared foods are produced in state-approved and licensed kitchens.

Seasonal Availability

Many plants and specialty items are available from opening day until the end of the season. However, produce items depend on growing time and are available at different times during the season. Cool season vegetables, like lettuce and greens, are ready in May. Tomatoes and peppers, which need warmer weather to grow, will be ready by late June or early July.

Visit the facebook page for the Gainesville Market on the Square! News updates, who is coming each Friday, and photos from the Market. Check out the Calendar of Events for upcoming festivities!

Come visit the Market and enjoy locally grown and produced goods that are fresher and more nutritious than what is available at a supermarket, in most cases cost less, and you can ask the person who produced it how it was made and what things you can do with it.
