My Black Knight

Mr. Joe Lloyd Fobbs, Jr. (03/11/1943 - 09/15/2002)

Joe was my "Renaissance Man".

He was an avid HAM Radio Operator (N5HOJ); a professional photographer; an accomplished operatic tenor-baritone; an excellent bassist-guitarist; an amateur skeet and game shooter; a maker of exquisite masculine jewelry; a fine builder of multimedia computers; a gourmet cook; a lover of fine wines; an educated listener of all things classical; a voracious reader of all things science fiction; a friend to all hobbits, elves and wizards; a caring teacher of children; a very good carpenter; an exceptional plumber; and my companion.  Had he lived just a few months more, he would have given me a new title...his beloved wife.

Below is a running joke that Joe and I had about getting older.  I hope you laugh when you read it...we always did.  I miss him more than words can ever reveal.  Rest well, my Black Knight in Rusty Armor.

Black Knight...

Faster than a speeding wheelchair,

More powerful than Milk of Magnesia,

Able to leap tall rose bushes using a single step-ladder.

"Look...up in the sky"

It's a bird?

It's a plane?

...

No, it's a bird.
