Monthly FYI for members
(Periodically Updated\Revised 10-02-02)
For those of you who have recently joined us, here are some areas of CQembellishers
that you will find useful. For veteran list members, here's a refresher or update about
our helpful links. :)
Here is where you'll find eBoard addresses, links to our favorite CQ sites, Sources
for CQ necessities, Galleries/Eye Candy, free projects/patterns and lessons found online,
and other interesting places to go, people to see, and doorbells to ring. You are welcome
to add suggestions to our growing list of links.
This is where you will find informational files about how
round robins work, swap examples, general netiquette, hostess tips, FYIs, lingo, soak
recipes, chocolate recipes, and documents such as special instructions for member's
This is also the best place for pictures since Yahoo has now chosen to
limit the size file you can upload to the Photos section.
You will find instructions on HOW to upload to the Files section in the
text file titled "How to upload word files and documents." (It's easy!)
Want to see if anything's happening? Know of a class being offered? Is there a
noteworthy happening we should know about? Members are encouraged to submit events for the
Calendar to the List Owner at CQembellishersemail@example.com
The Database has been useful to keep track of those people
interested in Newbie Round Robins or Not-so-Newbie RRs by having them sign the
"roster." When enough people sign up, Queen emBelle then groups them and gets
For those of you looking for playmates to come out for a
stitching, giggling, chocolate-sharing good time, we have a Voluntary Contact List in the
Database for regional locations (City/State). We also have a Group/Guild info base with
listings by state. Add yours!
This area is currently full but has multiple pictures of your works
in progress, finished work, experiments, dyeing frenzies, round robin blocks, etc. We also
have some mug shots of brave souls. ;)
Instructions for how to upload photos/pics are found in the text file
titled "How to upload PHOTOS & PICS".
If you feel like chatting "live" with other
members, post to the list and let them know you're available for them to join you. It's
been great to chat with our international members!
The Chat link is located on the left-hand side of the group home page.
Some advice: Once you've logged
into the Chat room, be sure to check the box "Ignore Private Messages from
Strangers" which is located in the Preferences section (click on the pencil icon
above the text box). Also, right-click on your name in the "Chatters" column and
choose Update Profile; be sure the box "Hide my online status..." is
checked. That is, unless you *want* to talk to "Bra & Panties Girl" or
"Sexy So-and-So" when they message you.
If you have a suggestion, proposal or idea that you feel would
enhance our group, please let me know by contacting me at CQembellishersfirstname.lastname@example.org
