HOME SCHOOL INSTRUCTIONS
IF JESUS AIN'T YOUR BEST FRIEND, GO HERE
Dear Parents,
Piedmont Christian Academy also offers a "Stay at Home" program where the student is registered with us at Piedmont Christian Academy but does his/her school work at home and sends the tests in to the school for grading and recording. We utilize the School of Tomorrow (A.C.E) curriculum, which has a proven record of success both with highly motivated or gifted students who need challenging learning experiences, as well as with slow starters and daydreamers who need to be challenged to perform. When the required credits for graduation are earned a Diploma and transcript are issued.
Upon registration, each student is diagnosed, through a series of tests, to determine his/her level of performance. Then with individualized instruction, he progresses through PACE’S (Packets of Accelerated Christian Education) at his own rate. Each grade level (credit) consists of twelve booklets (paces) in which the student reads the material, answers questions, reviews, and then tests. The core curriculum consists of five major subjects: Math, English, Word Building (Spelling), Social Studies, and Science. There are many electives from which to choose, such as Bible, Physics, Economics, Business Math, and Typing just to name a few.
The annual cost per student is estimated to be approximately $800.00 plus registration. The initial registration is $85.00. Subsequent years the registration is $60.00. The annual charges are submitted to SMART Tuition Management Service for collection by monthly installments. No credit check will be done.
We require supervision in the home from a parent or guardian with at least a high school equivalency.
Please call for an appointment for the Diagnostic Testing. Expect the test to take 3 to 4 hours if done properly.
