Training
The
Bluff City Police Department conducts annual training to officers which
is required for all sworn and reserve law enforcement officers by the
Peace Officers Standards and Training
(POST). The Bluff City Police Department strives to provide the
officers with the highest levels of training to protect
their safety and the safety of the public. In addition to the
POST mandated 40 hour annual in-service, other specialized
training is offered:

S.T.O.P.S. - Strategies and Tactics of Patrol Stops (Officer Survival)
Active Shooter Response
Sabre Chemical Weapons
The Bluff City Police Department utilizes the Johnson City Police Bureau's training facility which has state of the art training equipment.
Some of these include a classroom with remote power point with projector and sound system for entire building. Driving simulator, F.A.T.S. (Firearms Training Simulator), a 20 lane firing range with moving targets to facilitate dynamic firearms training. There is also a sniper range and a "shoot house" utilized for live fire building clearing practices.
