Stolz Environmental Solutions (SES) has performed numerous Environmental Assessments including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, Asbestos Assessments, Michigan Category N, D, and S Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs), and Due Care Plans. Our Environmental Professionals meet the requirements of the recent EPA All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) Final Rule, as well as the requirements to be considered an Environmental Professional under ASTM E1527-05. Just a few of our recent projects include: · A Phase I and Limited Phase II ESA of approximately 600-acres of land located in Barry and Allegan Counties, Michigan. The site was comprised of over 60 parcels of land in two townships and two counties, and was owned by four separate entities. The assessment was performed to prepare the site to be sold at a real estate auction. The project included the remediation of a small area of soil contaminated by historic dumping on one of the parcels. · A Phase I and II ESA, and Category S BEA of an existing gasoline station and convenience store business in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The site was the location of an existing 20,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank, kerosene aboveground storage tank, and the former location of three additional USTs. The Category S BEA was awarded a Determination of Adequacy by the MDEQ. · A Phase I ESA and Asbestos Assessment of a former fast food restaurant site in Portage, Michigan. The site was planned for redevelopment with a new restaurant business. The Asbestos Assessment was performed prior to demolition of the existing building. SES completed the Asbestos Assessment and filed the appropriate demolition notification with the State of Michigan within one week of being contracted for the project. · Preliminary environmental assessments of 23 fast food restaurant sites located throughout Michigan. The assessments were performed as part of lawsuit involving a lease arrangement for the sites. SES performed the assessments to the clients’ satisfaction in 8 days. · A Phase I and II ESA, and soil remediation at a 50 acre agricultural site in Kalamazoo County. Remediation activities involved the removal of soil contaminated with PNAs and heavy metals as a result of historic dumping. · A Phase I and II ESA on a former 16 acre greenhouse operation in Kent County Michigan. The site was the location of underground storage tanks, aboveground storage tanks, as well as a former snowmobile repair business. · A Phase I and II ESA, and Category S BEA of an equipment rental business in Kalamazoo. The Property was the former location of a gasoline station and a machine shop. SES used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology to assess the site for potential underground storage tanks. The BEA was awarded a Determination of Adequacy by the MDEQ. · A Phase I and II ESA, Category N BEA, and Category D BEA of a former feed mill in Kalamazoo. The Property was intended to be redeveloped as new commercial space. The Category N BEA was submitted for Disclosure to the MDEQ. The Category D BEA was awarded a Determination of Adequacy by the MDEQ. · A Phase I and Phase II ESA and a Category D BEA of a commercial property in South Haven, Michigan.
