ABOUT THE BOOK
BIRTH PAINS AND THE DELIVERY
Doesnt every mother know when she is pregnant and about to give birth to a baby?
Well, this one didnt know and she didnt know that her delivery would turn into an exciting book about one of the most profound characters of the Bible
that of Joseph in the Old Testament.
This is how it began:
Before the day was astir with its usual demands and chores, I sat to do my Bible reading without realizing that the seed of conception would be implanted in me on that winter morning. As I read about Josephs brothers betrayal of their young sibling in Genesis 37, and their cruelty to him I was shaken. They stripped him from his coat of many colors, a gift from his father, and used it as lying evidences against him. I began to weep.
"What has the poor lad done to deserve being sold into Egypt as a slave?" I asked. I had been through enough hurt and pain to realize that this type of hurt signified the need for change in the life of the one being tested. I felt Josephs anguish. I tasted the salt in his tears. I was ready to jump into his pity party and scald his brothers with the hot tea of revenge, but God wouldnt let me.
He kicked me in the shin to bring my self-will to a halt. Pointing to Hebrews 5:8 He declared that His Son, Jesus, learned obedience through His suffering. I squirmed when God told me that I hadnt experienced anything in the line of suffering compared to Jesus.
I was humbled to tears of surrender. "Yes Lord," I said, "change me, I will write Your message."
Of course, at that point I thought the message was just about Josephs coat of many colors and the fact that he had soul-junk issues that God wanted to deal with. Who on earth knew that the Bible spoke of Josephs other garment?
I sure didnt know. I was amazed when I saw his slaves garb also used as lying evidences against him. So I typed up more pages of notes. As God showed me the next garment and its relation to the believer who is moving toward the fulfillment of his dreams, I typed even more notes.
It was not until I had typed up well over 100 pages of notes that I realized I was being signaled out to write a book. Who would have guessed that I was pregnant with a book?
Contractions developed into labor pains as I was inspired with the subjects this book addressed. Salvation and Gods eternal love gave birth to the purposes behind the testing of life, freedom in prison and finally, a life of fulfillment and triumph.
Now the easy part was over
I had to learn to actually write and market this profound message.

FORWARD
When I was introduced to the manuscripts and was asked to read Lydia Chorpenings literary The Seven Robes of Joseph, I was at first hesitant to read another book about the life of Joseph.
Other noted authors had already penned their own biographical writing about the ancient patriarch whose life story occupies more space in the book of Genesis than any other single individual.
But what a pleasant surprise and pleasure it was for me to read this beautiful allegory of Josephs Seven Robes that are symbolic to the freedoms that Christ brings into our lives as we continue our walk with Him. The book is about freedom from emotional and spiritual bondages that often go unaddressed in peoples lives because of lack of understanding.
Lydia is gifted by God and qualified to address these spiritual issues. Her insight into each robe that Joseph wore from his place in the pit to his position in the palace will help the reader discover how Gods plan for Josephs life reveals His purpose for our lives.
I commend Lydia for hearing from God and penning her insights into the writing of this wonderful book.
I recommend The Seven Robes of Joseph for your reading and promise that you will receive new insights into Gods grace that will add stature to your spiritual life and strength to your walk with God.
