CARVING STONES OF GOLD AS A MINISTRY NAME

Have you ever noticed how we love to live life at the speed of freeway travel? We barely have time to enjoy a glimpse of scenery by glancing into our rear-view mirror, and we’re totally bent out of shape when God chooses a rough, trial-filled pathway for us. We try to dodge any rocks of testing while we kick aside the smaller stones without paying any heed to the fact that these stones actually contain gold!

This realization came into clear focus for me a few years back when God inspired me to pen 20 beautiful lines of poetry into a piece that draws the heart of humanity into a slower pace. This slower pace leads us into God’s presence and into the understanding that God has invested the ‘gold of His grace’ into the trials we encounter in our travels through life.

After having penned the words I felt inspired to chalk a rocky pathway background for this poem. God directed me to place the face of Jesus among the rocks before I realized that the last line of the poem says, “As I embrace my fiery trials I see His loving face.”

My friend, Brenda Pederson, helped me envision ‘Stones of Gold’ as a ministry name and the need to release the healing flow of its message for others.
