Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
Day 23: Part 2 Chapters 21-23
Print out this question sheet. Answer each question with complete sentences.
1. Well, now you have finished the book. Think about the character Nemo. Was he right
to wage his war on those who enslave others? But the Professor and his friends were
outraged, and called it murder. Spend some time thinking about this, then try to write
down your ideas. Is war ever called for? Is it different when one man fights a private
war than when countries go to war? Why or why not? Was Nemo in the right or the wrong,
or somewhere in between? These are very complex ideas, if you are doing this assignment
right you will probably have difficulty writing them down, or even figuring out where you
stand. Do some soul-searching and try.
